Martin Douglass is Engineering Director at the Aircraft Carrier Alliance and Chief Engineer of the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier programme. He has previously worked in marine engineering for BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence, having completed a Bachelor of Engineering in the field. He also holds an MSc in defence acquisition from Cranfield University.

Prior to moving into the Alliance he had the role of BAE Systems Chief Engineering for the Khareef class corvette being delivered to Oman. In addition to the delivery of the third vessel to a very demanding customer, the key challenge during this period was the development and delivery of final acceptance platform and combat system trials in Oman whilst providing design authority support to the in country warranty delivery team.

He had a career within the RN and served at sea in the Invincible class with fixed wing aircraft embarked

He and his partner Nikki have three children. He enjoys watching Wales play rugby, photography, sailing, golf and cycling.
