Pittsburg Post Gazette, 14 March 1966

Josalee Douglas was the first wife of Count Jean-François de Chambrun, who later married Raine, Countess Spencer, the former stepmother of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Lewis Williams Douglas (July 2, 1894 – March 7, 1974), an American politician, diplomat, businessman and academic was the son of James Douglas, Jr., a mining executive employed by the Phelps Dodge Company, and his wife Josephine "Josalee" Williams Douglas.

Raine insists that she was "resolutely not looking for romance." Chambrun, divorced in 1989 from American heiress Josalee Douglas (mother of their daughters Elizabeth, 23, and Ariane, 20), has said that he "was enjoying [his] freedom, peace and solitude."

Sweet Briar Alumnae: DECHAMBRUN, Countess. Josalee, (Josalee Douglas); '67.'

Josalee Douglas, daughter of James Douglas, was the great-grand-daughter of James Stuart Douglas, as is Sharman (1929-1996), daughter of Lewis Williams Douglas, one-time American ambassador in London.
