Captain Charles Robert George Douglas

 

32nd Bengal Native Infantry, the Assistant Resident, and commandant of the Palace Guard, murdered by mutineers at Delhi - 11th May 1857 Aged 33.

Son of Major Robert Sholto Douglas, Royal Artillery, and grandson of Major General Robert Douglas

Husband of Louisa Robinson, thought to be the daughter of Sir George Best Robinson, 2nd Baronet of Batts House, (1797-1855) .

Maria Orephie Douglas, daughter of Robert Sholto Douglas and Zelie D'aubigny, and her brother Charles Robert Geroge Douglas were both born in Mauritius.
