Commander Sholto Grant Douglas, R.N. For valuable services as Divisional Naval Transport Officer at Middlesbrough and Glasgow - CBE in recognition of the services of the Royal Naval Transport Service during the War - 4th July 1919

In 1884, as a midshipman, he received a medal for war service - probably in Egypt.

2 May 1889 - apptd to the Daphne (on China station?)
30th June, 1891 - promoted to be Lieutenant in Her Majesty's Fleet:
Captain of H.M.S. Peacock, 2 Oct, 1899 (a composite screw gunboat launched in 1888 and sold in 1906.)
Captain of H.M.S. Renard, 1 Jun, 1901 (an Alarm-class torpedo gunboat launched in 1892 and sold in 1905)
