Transfer from James to his nephew, William

David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful William, lord of Douglas, all the lands, renders, and possessions in which the late James, lord of Douglas, his uncle, and Archibald of Douglas, his father, knights, died vested and saised as of feu and heritage within his kingdom of Scotland, namely, the lands of Douglasdale (LAN), the lands of Lauderdale (BWK), and other lands pertaining to the constabulary of the same within the kingdom, of the lands of Eskdale, the forests of Ettrick, Selkirk, Yarrow and Tweed with the ancient bounds, of the vill of Jedburgh with the castle and forest of the same, of the lands of the barony of Bedrule in the sheriffdom of Roxburgh, of the lands of the barony of Romanno in the sheriffdom of Peebles, of the lands of the barony of Buittle in Galloway(KCB), of the lands of the Farm of Rutherglen, of the lands of the Eastwood in the sheriffdom of Lanark, of the lands of Hughston of Strathbrock (Houstoun, WLO) in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, of the lands of 'Famyltoun' and Bonnington in the barony of North Berwick (ELO), of the lands of 'Scotteraw' and 'Aynestoun' in the barony of Glencross (Glencorse, MLO), of the lands of 'Polbothy' (Polmoodie?) in the valley of Moffat (DMF), on the part of the aforesaid uncle of William lord of Douglas, and of the lands of Liddesdale with castle (ROX), of the lands of the barony of Kirkandrews (DMF) in the sheriffdom of Dumfries, of the lands of 'Heryotmore' (in Heriot, MLO), of the lands of Rattray in Buchan, of the lands of the barony of Onele and of Coull in the sheriffdom of Aberdeen, of half the land of 'Logyachry' in the sheriffdom of Perth, of the lands of the barony of Cavers in the sheriffdom of Roxburgh, of the lands of the barony of Drumlanrig and of Terregles in the sheriffdom of Dumfries, of the lands of the barony of West Calder in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, of the lands of Graden in the sheriffdom of Berwick, on the part of the father of William, lord of Douglas, and all the other lands and renders with pertinents named or unnamed in which the aforesaid William and Archibald died vested and saised; holding and having of the king and of the other chief lords of the lands, in feu and heritage, with homages and services of freeholders of all the lands, with advowson of churches, in regality, in free warren, with fees and forfeitures, with multures, mills and their profits, together with the leadership of the men of the sheriffdoms of Roxburgh, Selkirk, Peebles, and the upper ward of the Clyde; for service owed and wont to the king and the other chief lords.
