Vivien
Endicott-Douglas (born 10 December 1990) is a Canadian actress.
Shoebox Zoo, a mix of classic drama and state
of the art animation is the basis of a new children's fantasy
co-production for BBC Scotland. This 14-week location and studio
production has key scenes for the first series shot on location at
Tantallon
Castle and Melrose Abbey in the
Borders.
Scottish writer Brian Ward’s script features a present-day American
schoolgirl uprooted to Scotland after the death of her mother. Here she is
given a shoebox zoo by the legendary Borders alchemist Michael Scott, and
when the Celtic animal models inside come to life she embarks on a quest
to discover a Book of Forbidden Knowledge lost in the Scottish Borders a
thousand years ago.
Executive-produced by Claire Mundell, the stars of Shoebox Zoo include
Peter Mullan and Jason Connery, with voiceovers for the animal characters
provided by Rik Mayall, Simon Callow, Siobhan Redmond and Alan Cumming.
Young Canadian actress Vivien Endicott-Douglas plays Marnie, the
adventure’s heroine.
Shoebox Zoo is due to air in the UK and Canada in autumn 2004 and
Australia and the USA have also bought the show. A full length feature
version is in development.
