A Victorian carved walnut lazy susan, the scroll edge lobed top with a coroneted heart between each scroll, the centre with a relief crest of a boar and a tree with motto 'LOCK SICKER' revolving on a frieze with ivy and banners inscribed 'JAMAIS ARRIERE; DO or DIE; LOCK SICKER; FOWARD; JAMAIS ARRIERE; DO or DIE; LOCK SICKER; FOWARD,' divided by scroll supports, 4.5in (11.5cm) h, 23.75in (60cm) dia.


The crest is for The Earl of Morton (Douglas). by repute, George Sholto Douglas, 17th Earl of Morton (1789-1858)

 

This sold for £750 in July 2011 and for £4,750 in November 2011.
