During Homecoming Scotland 2009 we'll be
celebrating with a year-long programme of events
to highlight Scotland's great contributions to the world: Robert
Burns (the 250th anniversary of his birth is in 2009),
golf, whisky, great minds & innovations
and Scotland's rich ancestry and culture. An

Organisations all over the country are
currently planning Homecoming activity and invite you to join the
celebrations. From Orkney to Aberdeen, from Oban to the Scottish
Borders, there will be a packed calendar of events and
activities to choose from.

The Douglases organised a clan tent at the
Clan Gathering, and we
were pleased to see many of
the family/clan there. Read more in the
Community Network.
We have planned out
an itinery for those visiting Scotland
which will allow you to visit the key places relating to Douglas history.
Of course, for those tracing their ancestry, you will want to take in
places that your branch of the family originated from. You can
modify these suggestions to suit.
