Text | : MRS. CORA WINCH OF TRUMAN DIES, October 1951 Mrs. Cora Winch 81, of Truman, died Monday after an illness of several months with hardening of the arteries. She has been a resident of Truman the past 34 years, moving there from Nashville township, where she was born and raised. She was born in Nashville township May 23, 1870, a daughter of Orrin Herrick. In 1888 she married James R. Winch. they farmed in Nashville until they moved to Truman. Surviving are nine children, Lee Winch of Inglewood, Calif., Bert Winch of Winnebago, Elsie ( Mrs. Elmer Sackett) of Nashville, Jay Winch of Truman, Ora Winch of Truman, Ina (Mrs. Roy Sugar) of Weaver, Ia. Everett Winch of Winnebago, Paul Winch of Winnebago, Robert Winch of Compton Calif., also grandchildren, one brother, Fred Herrick of Truman. Funeral services will be held Friday, a family service at 10:30 a. m. at the Olson Funeral home, and public church services at 2 p.m. in the Baptist Church, in Truman, Rev. Vern Lake officiating. Burial will be in Nashville cemetery. Friends may call at the Olson funeral home from noon Wednesday until noon Friday. Mrs. Herrick will be taken to the church at noon Friday to lie in state until the service. | |
