- "It is this writer's opinion that Ewen, second son of John MacMillan inLagganfern, was progenitor of the Corriebuie branch. Corriebuie lies onthe south-west side of Loch Quoich and was mainly possessed by MacPhees.Ewen MacMillan had a son Allan, who was living at Landavra in 1779, andin early 1800 he took action against john Cameron of Corriechoillebecause the drovers of the latter were being blamed for carrying awaysome of MacMillan's live stock. Ewen MacMillan of Corriebuie, possibly agrandson of Ewen from Lagganfern, and his wife and children emigrated toGlengarry, Canada in 1802." (p88, chapter "The Macmillan of Corriebuie"in "Bygone Lochaber" by Somerled MacMillan. 1971 (Printed for privatecirculation)
"Neil (Corribuie)MacMillan's father(Daniel Lochiel MacMillan) alsodescended from Angus MacMillan of Callich(1766-1841).whose daughter,Marjory(b. c 1809), married Ewen (Corriebuie) MacMillan. In my records,it states that Ewen (Lochiel/Corribuie) MacMillan was the son of EwenMacMillan and Annie McDonald. (I am not certain what year the familysettled in Finch from Lochiel Township). " From Margaret Cameron
