The Sherrard funeral home this week received word that the body ofMrs. Myrtle Miller, a former resident of Millersburg, was to bereturned here for burial. Mrs. Miller died Saturday in Portland, Ore. NOTE-KNOWN TO DATE: Myrtle Johanna Jack Reed Miller passed away inPortland, Multnomah County, Oregon after spending half of her lifeliving in Mercer and Rock Island Counties where her children wereborn, Frances L., Frank L., Albert, Josephine A., Roy William, andHarry Reed. Her daughter Josephine A. Reed Anderson lived inPortland, Ore. In 1935, her son Harry was killed in a train accidentwhile in the Marine Corps. in San Diego, California at the age of 20years. Myrtle's parents were John Nelson & Laura Bean Fuller Jack ofMercer and Rock Island Counties in Illinois. Myrtle was born in Julyof 1885, in Mercer County, Illinois. Her first marriage was to ArthurJohn Reed, the father of her children. Her second marriage was toRiley E. Miller of Millersburg, Mercer County, Illinois, a life timeresident of the area. Riley's grandfather was of Indiana and settledin Mercer County before the Civil War of which he served on the sideof the Union. SLJuhl, Compiler, 10 May 2008.
