  1. 2.  Max Albert Roth Descendancy chart to this point (1.Albert1) was born on 15 Feb 1912 in Switzerland; died on 28 Jul 1943 in Co. Kerry, Eire; was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, USA.

    Notes:

    Before his marriage, he was a hotelier with interests in Switzerland, Egypt and London.
    At the time of his marriage, he was a courier for the Swiss Government, arrached to the legation in Lisbon and at the time a lieutenant in the Swiss Army.

    At the time of his death, Max was a courier with the Swiss legation, and was due to travel onwards to the USA. He was known to Capt. Hewitt, the Irish Army intelligence officer at Foynes. Immigration records show him arriving on various Clipper flights for the thirteen months prior to the crash. He travelled to New York at least once a month during those months.

    Buried:
    The remains of M A Roth were brought to Golders Green Crematorium in London and cremated there on August the 5th. His ashes were then flown to New York to his wife in December 1943 and were interred in her families plot in New York's Green Wood Cemetery.

    Max married Edith Douglass on 7 Mar 1943 in St. Bartholomew's Church, New York, USA. Edith (daughter of William Shipman Douglass and Anna Mabel Smith) was born about 1905; died in May 1948 in New York, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
