    ESTHER HANN BILLINGS, 84, former newspaper publisher and well-knownclub woman, died at 6:20 P.M. Monday at Parke County Nursing Home inRockville. Born Nov. 01, 1908, in Montezuma, she was the daughter ofGeorge W. and Carrie Farner Hann. On May 26, 1928, she married ClaudeBillings who preceded her in death in October 1985. she was alsopreceded in death by a brother, Conrad Farner. In 1932, she and herhusband purchased Akron News, a Fulton County weekly newspaper whichthey continued to publish for 30 years. She was an accomplishedmusician and for many years and was the church organist for the AkronUnited Methodist church and later the Rockville Christian ScienceSociety. She was one of the progenitors of the Parke County coveredBridge Festival, serving as chairman for a period, as well as theFarmers Market, Covered Bridge Kitchen and the Maple Fair.
