    Notes:

    Phillip had 13 siblings: (Anna) Maria Pollmann (born Worms) , (Maria Anna) Catherine Loges (born Worms) and 11 other siblings

    (Research):The Whorms or Worms family actually goes back a number of centuries. Phillip's father and mother were a Johann Heinrich (1748-1808) and Anna Maria (1755-1800) Worms. We can trace the paternal line back through Johann to Vitus Heinrich Worms (1707-1765) to (Johann) Heinrich Worms (1676-1741) until we get to Juergen (1630-1702) and Barbara (birth and death unknown, married Juergen in 1678) Worms. Juergen and Barbara are the first ancestors of the male line of the Worms family for which we have documentation. Phillip's maternal line is even older. I could trace it all the way back through Anna Maria to Friedrich Kaiser, born 1605, year of death unknown.

    Immigrated to Jamaica from Germany in 1834, with Phillip (born 1796) and Carolina Worms (born 1805), his German born father and mother.
    Friedrich became a farmer.

    Mary Worms was of mixed Irish and German ancestry. I think originally from St. Ann's parish.

    (Research):There were three women named Mary Whorms or Worms in St. Ann's parish. The first was Mary Whorms, maiden name Lurch, mother of the second Mary Whorms, my great-great-grandmother, and a third Mary Whorms who died at age 5 of a "fever" in 1898 (death certificate attached). She was the daughter of Cornelius Worms, the son of Alfred, who was John Whorms' brother. There seem to have been a number of Wormses in St Ann's, all of them apparently descended from Friedrich and Louisa Whorms, who together had 8 children.

    Mary married Findlater 'Finata' Douglas on 18 Mar 1916 in St Ann's Parish Church, Jamaica. Findlater (son of Issac James Douglas and Catherine Eliza Webb) was born about 1882; died in 1927; was buried in St Ann's Parish Church, Jamaica. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
