OBITUARY of Harry C. Swick. "Harry C. Swick departed this life March 5, 1901, in the 26th year of his age. Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Swick, of North Sewickley Township, Beaver Co., Pa. He united early with the M. E. Concord Church, and was a faithful and devoted member until his death. When only 20 years of age he was chosen class leader of that church and faithfully fulfilled the duties of that office; he loved the prayer and class meetings and was never absent when possible for him to be there. When 17 years of age he began to teach school, and continued to do so for three years, and then started to Geneva College. During his two years there he was the leader of all of his classes. His ambitious mind got the better of his body and his health gave way, compelling him to give up his books and school. He was married to Nellie M. Duncan in June, 1900, and they lived happily together until his death. Strong in faith, patient in suffering, "For him to live was Christ and to die was gain." The funeral services were held at Concord Church and were conducted by his pastor, Rev. S. H. Greenlee. Despite the inclement weather a large number of people came to pay their tribute of respect to one they loved, and to sympathise with the sorrowing parents and relatives. Floral tributes were profuse. His pallbearers were: Aaron Wilson, Frank Douthett, Elmer Whisler, Chas. Frazier, Albert Miller and William Jenkins, all intimate acquaintances. His remains are interred in Concord cemetery."
