- OBITUARY: "OLLIE RECTOR, VEEDERSBURG, IND. (CNS)--Ollie C. Rector,71, a resident of the Sterling community on Veedersburg Route 4 forthe past 10 years, died at 6:15 a.m. today (Sept. 15, 1969) at theVeterans Administration Hospital in Danville (Illinois). He had beena patient there since Aug. 27 and had been ill several years. BornAug. 9, 1898, in Morgan County, he was the son of Timothy S. and DellaKirkman Rector. He was married in 1920 to Elsie Pierson, whosurvives. Mr. Rector had formerly resided at Stringtown for 30 yearsand at Rockville. He had been employed at the Hydraulic Press BrickCo. Veedersburg for 17 years before his retirement in 1963. He was amember of the Rockville United Brethren Church and Fulton BantaAmerican Legion Post. He was a veteran of service with the Army inWorld War I. Other survivors include a son Lester of Kansas City,Mo.; a sister Hazel Batty of Rockville; a brother, John of Detroit,Mich.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, abrother, two sisters and a half sister. Services will be at 2 p.m.Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. the Rev.Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after noonTuesday.
