The following information is from the Clore-Glore Genealogy manuscript by Delma Rae Carpenter, Sr. (1881-1967). A copy of this is available at the Madison Co., VA Library. Aaron Clore (son of Michael Clore) was born in Madison Co., Va., July2 8, 1770, died in Laurens Co., S.C., 1840. Sponsors at his baptismwere Jo hn Clore, Peter Clore, Elizabeth Becker, and Margaret Clore.He married S usannah Swindle, December 24, 1790, Culpeper Co., Va.(present Madison Co .), the ceremony being performed by the Baptistminister, the Rev. Willi am Mason, after whom Aaron named his son.Susannah Swindle was born 176 6, died 1858. Soon after his marriageAaron Clore removed to Laurens Co ., S.C. In Sullivan Tsp, LaurensCo., S.C., in 1797 he bought 158 acr es on Walnut Creek, from WilliamMoore. Likewise in 1822 he obtained 2 11 acres from Edmund Ware; in1826, 190 acres from Robert Freeman; in 182 7, 165 acres. In 1835Aaron Clore made deed of gift, 190 acres, to son Wi lliam M. Clore inconsequence of his having worked for him four years aft er he came ofage. Aaron Clore made will January 2, 1838, probated Decemb er 14,1840, in Laurens Co., S.C., witnessed by William Arnold, Seborn Jones, and John Knight. He names son William M. Clore and sons-in-lawMicha el Clardy and James Gaines as exors. Mentions wife Susanna Cloreand chil dren Rebecca Drummond, Margaret Gaines, Ethelinda Clardy,Martha Crawfor d, Elizabeth Clardy, Milly Pitts (wife of Isaac Pitts),and William Mas on Clore. Aaron Clore is buried at the Poplar SpringsCemetery (Baptis t) in Laurens Co., S.C. A letter of John Fishback (hemarried Ann Clor e, sister of Aaron), dated Sept. 30, 1844, MadisonCo., Va., to Mrs. Susan nah Clore, gives the number of children,grandchildren, etc. of Michael Cl ore, in which the number of childrenassigned to Aaron is 10. Evident ly 3 predeceased the date of Aaron'swill.
