ALFRED J. BUDDENHAGEN
BEACH LAKE, PA ? Alfred J. Buddenhagen of Welcome Lake Estates, Pike County, died Saturday, February 15, 2003, at the Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, following an illness. He was 81.
The son of the late Alfred A. and Kunigunda Lang Buddenhagen, he was born in Ridgewood, NY. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving stateside as a Technical Sergeant with the 3505th Army Air Forces Base Unit until he was discharged in 1946. Alfred owned and operated a German delicatessen and cheese business in Queens, NY until he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, the former Helen A. Kieser, and a brother, Andrew Richard Buddenhagen.
Survivors include three daughters, Christine Van Varick of Woodridge, NY, Janice Buddenhagen of Clinton, MA, and Barbara Larger of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren; and a close friend, Sharon Gries of Hawley, PA.
Friends may visit at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA, on Thursday, February 20, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held by the family on Friday in the Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.
