Notes for MARY "POLLY" CASE:
Obituary from Waverly newspaper - January 1900
Mrs. Jesse Leverich died at her home in the 2nd ward, Dec.25, 1900. Mary Case was born in Otisco, N.Y. Oct. 6, 1821. She married at that place, May 4, 1843, to Jesse Leverich who survives her. They moved to Clinton Junction, Wis. the same year and lived there until 1868 when they came to Waverly where they lived since with the exception of two years which were spent in Butler County. Their children are Mrs. L. B. Raymond, of Hampton; H. G. Leverich, Miller, S.D.; Mrs. Blasier who died nearly two years ago; Bayart T. Leverich, Worthington, Minn.; Mrs. Adel Hackett, Waverly, Iowa; and Wm. C. Leverich, Sioux City, Iowa. The funeral is this Thursday, at 1 o'clock p.m. from the house. The religious services will be conducted by Rev. P. M. Smock, of the Baptist Church, Waverly.
According to probate records in Bremer Co, Iowa dated 1877-1884 her husband, Jesse Leverich, was appointed to be guardian for Bayard and William until they were of age for receiving an inheritance from the estate of Rufus Case, Otisco, Onondaga Co., NY. Amount was $50 each plus 10% interest. We assume that this is Mary's father.
