"ANCESTRY OF HANS MICHAEL KLAAR
Source: Page 16, Before Germanna
Violent is the only word to describe the history of Baden andWurttemberg during the 17th century. First came the Thirty-Years War(1618-1648) and then the French Army invasions between 1691 and 1695,during which the ancient parish register of Gemmingen was destroyed in1693. The authors state: Without those valuable records, it isimpossible to create a complete picture of the Klaar family there. They also stated: ...it appeared that Gemmingen may not have been theKlaar family's ancestral village. In nearby Stetten am Heuchelberg,an entry for Hans Michael Klaar, grandfather of the immigrant Michael,is dated 1659 (The recording of his daughters birth AnnaCatharina.)."
