- "NOTE: He (Jesse) lived in Annapolis, Ind. since 1930, and part timein Danville, Ill., as he worked at the C.E. & I Railroad Shop there.I can remember before W.W. II, taking lunch to my father, (Vernie) whowas a Blacksmith there, and stopping by the engine shop and talking tomy grandfather (Jesse). I used to spend weekends with him and my stepgrandmother (Effie) when I was very young. Effie, always had a sewingbasket ready for me when I arrived (See Death Certificates)." PerJoyce Lorraine Clore Elkins, daughter of Vernie Tell Clore.
Jesse Clore died two months after I was born. I never got to know mygrandfather or Effie. Both have been missed greatly by the family. Ionly know what mother (Joyce Lorraine Clore Elkins) has said of themover the years. In December, ca.2002, Mother and I hunted twice inMemory Garden Cemetery, Rockville, Parke County, Indiana, before wefound their headstones and were able to get photos of them, along withBernice (Clore) Overpeck, Fred & Josephine Clore, plus Kenneth & F.Athaleen Clore. This was two months before Mother passed away.Sandra Lee Elkins Juhl, Joyce's daughter, compiler.
