Title Charter under the Great Seal of King James VI. confirming (1)Charter (dated at Paisley 11th April 1586) by Andrew Symple, son and heirapparent of Cuthbert Semple of Auchinbothie, with consent of his father,liferenter of the lands aftermentioned, whereby in implement of acontract (of the same date as the charter) he granted to PatrickCunyghame, lawful son of the late William Cunynghame of Hakat and toMargaret Montgumrie, his spouse, and the longer liver of them in conjunctinfeftment, and to the heirs lawfully procreated or to be procreatedbetween them, whom failing, to the lawful and nearest heirs of the saidPatrick whomsoever, one seventh part of the lands of Watirland, Halkatand Hisilbank, extending to a 15s. 3d. land or thereabout of old extent,with one-seventh part of the mill, multures and sequels thereof, lying inthe parish of Dunlope, bailiary of Cwnynghame and sheriffdom of Air: Tobe held a me of the King as prince and stewart of Scotland, rendering!therefor the service of ward and relief: With precept of sasine addressedto John Hammiltoun, vicar of Dunlop; and (2) Charter No. GD86/311.Moreover the king for the good service of David Cunynghame of Robertlandof new grants the said lands to him and to Jean Cunynghame, his spouse.The charter of confirmation is dated at Halyrudhous 14 February 1597-8
