Sir James MacIain Riabhaich Campbell of Ardkinglas, the last of the Campbells in that line. He having only eight daughters.
2 - Sir James Campbell, 2nd Baronet of Ardkinglass, (c.1666-5 July 1752) was a British Member of Parliament and the son of Sir Colin Campbell, 1st Baronet of Ardkinglass .
Campbell served as MP for Scotland 1707-1708, Argyllshire 1708-1734 and Stirlingshire 1734-1741. Sir James Campbell's seat was Ardkinglas Castle, which stood on the shore of Loch Fyne Argyllshire, Scotland. The castle was surrounded by beautiful gardens and parkland and the vast Ardkinglas estate. Sir James married Margaret Campbell, the heiress of the Gargunnock estate. Their only son drowned, their eldest daughter Helen Campbell, married Sir James Livingston, 2nd Baronet of Glentirran and Dalderse, their eldest son Lt.Col. Sir James Livingston-Campbell, succeeded to the Ardkinglas estate. Around 1700 Sir James Campbell, acquired Dunderave Castle and estate, he secondly married on 21st Nov.1732 Anne Callander, the daughter of John Callander of Craigforth, and widow of Colonel John Blackadder. The Callander of Craigforth family later succeeded to the Ardkinglas estate.
