The Penninghame MI transcript reads "A light coloured sandstone copperplate script. Here lies James Heron in Carsnestock who died the 31 st October 1758 aged 94 years and Marion Shan (sic) his spouse who died the 10th of March 1748 aged 70 years old. Also Mary, Jean and Ann Herons their children. They left 70 children and Gr childr alive and 30 dead. "Thes heros hwo were worthy of renoune Who fought the fight and now doth wear the crown."
