    Notes:

Joseph listed his occupation as farmer and residence as "Laburnum Bank"

Joseph Forbes was on the Tiaro Shire Council, actually one of the very first members. Joseph died of injuries at the Maryborough Hospital in 1917 after an accident when he crashed his sulky, near the Tiaro cemetery, the year after Margaret died. They had 4 sons and 3 daughters.
Also I think the family first settled in Maryborough. Although Tiaro was surveyed in 1864 there was no town and really was no one there till the Gympie gold rush in 1867.
Maryborough was declared a port of entry in 1859 so it's likely they landed there rather than Moreton Bay.

Joseph married Margaret Douglas on 14 May 1866 in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia. Margaret (daughter of George Douglas and Elspeth Bogue) was born on 26 Jul 1844 in Clifton Hall, Midlothian, Scotland; died on 11 Nov 1916 in Tiaro, Queensland, Australia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  1. 6.  George Douglas was born on 26 Apr 1802 in Hownam, Roxburghshire, Scotland; and died.

His occupation is listed as Seaman.
George, his daughters Anne and Margaret and son Alexander came to Australia on "The Sundra" leaving Plymouth 2/7/1863 arriving Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 26/9/1863.
George and probably Alexander came in the draft of immigrants of the Lancashire Co-operative Emigration Society to settle river front land on the upper Mary River named "Pioneers Rest". The settlers cleared the land of Kauri Pine timber which was sold to fund the cultivation of cotton crops. Anne's husband David Whittaker was also a member of the draft.

(Research):Posibly the son of Adam Douglas, a carpenter from Hownam, Roxburghshire, who was 82 in 1851 and dead by 1861, and Isabella, his wife, who was born in Alington, Northumberland, c1823
