    Notes:

"This family tree has been pulled together from data in various websites. The name Grandmesnil appears to have been an anglicised version ofGrentmesnil, near Lisieux. The family appears to have been researched insome depth in recent years apparently because of interest in the factthat Hugh de Grentmesnil is reported to have been one of the closecompanions of William the Conqueror. This has led to the correction ofprevious confusions between his sons and the ancestry of Petronilla -which we hope we have got right !
    Gervase de Grentmesnil (b c977) "
