Warden states: He moved to Rochester with his father where he died in 1732.
"Benjamin was a farmer and sold land in 1693 to Moses Barlow, in 1699 to John Hammond, in 1723 to Edward Winslow, in 1715 to John Corning. All of this land was inherited from his father."
When he died his estate was valued at 1047 pounds. At the father's death James Dexter was made guardian of the two young children, Seth and Joanna.

"William...came to America with his father, and wis in Barnstable in 1650. He lived on one of two farms that his father bought. He took oath in Barnstable (Freeman) in 1657. He removed to Rochester about 1679 and died there in 1694. He was one of a party of thirty, which included such men as William Bradford, Kenelem Winslow, Thomas Hinckley and Rev. Samuel Arnold, who became the grantees of the town of Rochester. When he died he owned considerable land both in Barnstable and in Rochester which he gave to his children, as follows: James, Thomas, and John Dexter had the Rochester lands, while Stephen, Philip, and Benjamin Dexter has the Barnstable land. The children all went to Rochester except Philip, who moved to Falmouth, MA, and Stephen, who remained in Barnstable and who was the only one of the name in the town in 1703."

Thank you for sharing this information. I agree - seems almost certain Samuel Arnold's wife was Sarah Holmes.

I have a publication by Frederick L. Weis, - "The Colonial Clergy and the Colonial Churches of New England". On page 21, Samuel ARNOLD, b. England, 1622; was at Sandwich, 1643; later lived at Yarmouth where he was Rep.Gen.Ct., 1654-1656; original proprietor at Marshfield;
Ord.Marshfield, 1658; sett.Marshfield, 1657-1693; d. Marshfield, Sept 3, 1693, a.71.

This has to be our Samuael ARNOLD, right? Following this is Samuel Arnold, Jr.., b. Yarmouth, May 9, 1649, son of Rev. Samuel and Elizabeth Arnold; Ord. Marion (1st Chh., Rochester), Oct 13, 1703; sett. Marion, (1st Chh., Rochester), 1684-1707; d. Rochester, Feb. 11, 1708/9.

And I just looked at my "Second Torrey Supplement". There before my wondering eyes -- p. 4: ARNOLD, Samuel (2) & Sarah (2) HOLMES; m c1671 Marshfield (REG 145:376).

Again thanks for everyones help with connecting Sarah HOLMES to Samuel ARNOLD.
