  1. 1.  Robert Douglas was born about 1812 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada (son of Robert Douglas); died after 1881 in Sandpoint, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada..

    Notes:

    1861 Census. The 1861 Census tells us that Robert is living in Colchester, Nova Scotia. Spelling
    is Douglass. There are 2 males and 8 females. The two males would be Robert and his son
    John. I am missing a couple of the females. One would be Margaret. The one under one year
    could be Annabel. There are three females over 5 and under 15 that cannot read or write. There
    is one male over 15 that cannot write and one female over 15 that cannot write. Possibility Robert
    and Margaret.
    1871 Census. The 1871 Census tell us that Robert is 59 years old born about 1812 in Nova
    Scotia. He is married and his religion is the Church of England. He has Scottish origins and is a
    Farmer. His wife Margaret is 56 years old, she is born in Nova Scotia. Her religion is the Church
    of England. She is French in origin. There are four children listed in the census. Nancey,
    Grisela, Annbell and Jessie. The three older children are going to school. We do not know who
    Jessie Douglas is. She does not show up in any other census but there is a Josbell that shows up
    with James in the 1881 census. Spelling is Dougles
    1881 Census. The 1881 census show us that Robert and Margaret at Sandpoint on their farm.
    Robert is 66 years old born 1915 in Nova Scotia. Margaret is 63 years old also born in Nova
    Scotia in 1818. There are three daughters living at home - Mary female age 27 born 1854,
    Priscilla female born 1857 and Anabel female for 1861. All the years seem to be out by three
    years or so. Not sure who Mary is. Robert is a Farmer, he and the children have Scottish while
    Margaret this time has Swiss roots. Spelling is Dougless.

    Robert married Margaret Simpson about 1841 in Nova Scotia, Canada. Margaret was born about 1815 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada; died after 1881 in Sandpoint, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada.. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    1. John Barkley Douglas was born on 12 Aug 1843 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada; died on 2 Apr 1935 in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Canada.; was buried on 4 Apr 1935 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada.
    2. Flora Douglas was born about 1846 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada; died about 1880 in French River, Nova Scotia, Canada..
    3. Susan Douglas was born on 17 Apr 1850 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada; died on 22 Mar 1922 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada..
    4. Grisela Priscila Douglas was born about 1853 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada; and died.
    5. Agnes Nancy Douglas was born on 10 Aug 1856 in Tatamagouche, Colchester, Nova Scotia, Canada; died after 1901 in Amherst Nova Scotia Canada.
