    Notes:

    There is considerable doubt about Lord Archibald Douglas (one s more likely than two ss).

    One version says that Lord Archibald Douglass was the grandson of Sir William Douglas, 9th Earl of Drumlanrig and 1st Earl of Queensbury who was born about 1582 and died in 1640.

    It is said that
    He left his Scottish property to his sister who married a Lord Hone.

    Came from near Edinburgh, Scotland to America abt 1725, perhaps 1728, bringing with them their household belongings. It is said they chartered a ship for themselves and immediate friends.

    He also had 2 daughters.

    It is said that Lord Douglass, after his brother was killed, grew tired of the constant fighting. He decided to move his family to America abt 1725.
