    John Campbell, formerly Coates, merchant, of Clathic, Perth, Lord. provost of Glasgow John Coats Campbell (1721-1804), 6th of Clathick, was a wealthy Glasgow tobacco merchant and one of the founding partners of the Thistle Bank in 1761, as well as Lord Provost of Glasgow 1784-1785.

    John married Agnes Colquhoun before 9 Aug 1758. Agnes (daughter of Laurence (1st of Killermont) Colquhoun) was born about 1735; died in 1804. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
