  1. 1.  James Templeton McGarrah was born in 1781 in Antrim, County Antrim, Ireland; died in Dec 1839 in Brentford.

    Notes:

James Templeton (he didn't always use McGarrah) was not only a foreman in the arboretum at Kew Gardens but was also Clerk there at the time of his death. He possibly also worked in Syon Gardens. was born in Antrim in 1781. After moving to London he joined the Westminster Regiment of the Middlesex Militia in 1804 and toured around Britain with the regiment until about 1815. Around 1812 the Militia was in Northern Ireland and I think it is likely it was then that he met Frances. They had a son James in Scotland in September 1813 when the militia was near Penicuik.

Both James & his wife Frances died in 1839 december 1/4.
