    George Fitzroy Henry Somerset, 3rd Baron Raglan GBE CB (18 September 1857??"24 October 1921) was a British peer and soldier.
    Somerset was born in 1857, the son of the 2nd Baron Raglan and a godchild of George V of Hanover. He became a Page of Honour to Queen Victoria in 1868 (until 1874) and was educated at Eton and the Sandhurst.
    In 1870, he joined the Grenadier Guards and fought in the Second Anglo-Afghan War. On 28 February 1883, he married Lady Ethel Ponsonby, a daughter of the 7th Earl of Bessborough and they later had six children. He held the positions of Under-Secretary of State for War from 1900 to 1902 and Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man from 1902 to 1918. He was also a prominent militia officer.

    George married Lady Ethel (of Bessborough) Ponsonby in 1883. Ethel (daughter of Walter William Brabazon (7th Earl of Bessborough) Ponsonby and Lady Susan Lewis Cornwallis (of St Germains) Eliot) was born on 8 Apr 1857; died in Jun 1940; was buried on 26 Jun 1940. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Richard Henry FitzRoy Somerset, 2nd Baron Raglan ( 24 May 1817 - 3 May 1884 ) was a British peer .
    The second son of the 1st Baron Raglan , Somerset was born in Paris and educated at Christ Church, Oxford . He came to Ceylon with Sir Colin Campbell (later Lord Clyde) as his Private Secretary and was subsequently taken into the Ceylon Civil Service in 1841. In 1844 he was Assistant Government Agent of Colombo . He left the island in 1849 to become the Private Secretary of George V of Hanover , leaving that office in 1855 when he succeeded to his father's title. Parliament granted him and his successor a pension of ? 2.000 for the service of his father (23 July 1855). Cefntilla House, Usk, Monmouthshire, was presented to him by about 230 of his father's friends in 1861.
    Cornet Gloucestershire Yeomanry 1856 and Captain 1864-75 he became a Lord-in-Waiting from 1858-59 and 1866-69, under The Earl of Derby 's and Disraeli 's governments respectively.
    On 25 September 1856 , Lord Raglan had married Lady Georgina Lygon , the third daughter of the 4th Earl Beauchamp and they later had five children. After the death of his wife in 1865, he married Mary Blanche Farquhar , the eldest daughter of Sir Walter Farquhar, 3rd Baronet on 11 October 1871 and they had one daughter.
    He died Chesterfield street, London, 3 May 1884 and was buried Llandenny churchyard, co. Monmouth, 8 May.

    He was educated at Harrow School and Trinity College, Cambridge.
    Between 1846 and 1894 he acted as Rector for the parishes of Canford Magna, Wiltshire; Beer Ferris, Devon; Marston Bigot, Somerset; and Stutton, Suffolk.

    Walter married Lady Susan Lewis Cornwallis (of St Germains) Eliot on 15 Jan 1850. Susan (daughter of Edward Granville (3rd Earl of St Germains) Eliot and Jemima (of Cornwallis) Cornwallis) was born on 17 Dec 1825; died on 15 Jan 1911. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
