  1. 1.  Henry Skrine was born on 23 Jan 1788 in Warleigh Manor (son of Henry Skrine); died on 10 Sep 1853; was buried in Stubbings Church.

    Notes:

    The Skrine family had an unbroken genealogy for hundreds of years. Some claim that they came to England as courtiers of Philip of Spain on his marriage to Queen Mary; others attribute the origins to the Skerne family of County Durham.] In the High Victorian period they were one of the wealthiest families in England, their money derived from tea planting estates in Ceylon (now called Sri Lanka) and Malaysia, extending into legal matters and as merchants.

    Buried:
    Over the family vault in Stubbings churchyard stands a massive tomb with an inscription, and heraldic carvings displaying the arms of Skrine and Spry.

    Henry married Caroline Anne Spry on 21 Jan 1812. Caroline was born in 1794; died on 18 Jul 1867. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    1. Henry Duncan Skrine, D.L., J.P. was born on 22 May 1815; died on 25 Sep 1901.
    2. Rev. Wadhan Huntley Skrine was born on 22 Oct 1818 in Warleigh Manor; died on 5 Feb 1887 in Camley, Maidenhead Thicket, Maidenhead, England; was buried in Stubbings Church.
