"SIR THOMAS, the second Baronet, succeeded his father in 1700. In theyear 1702, he married Isabel the eldest daughter of Sir William Lockhartof Carstairs, Baronet, by the Lady Isabel Douglas, sister of William Dukeof Queensbury. The children of this marriage were THOMAS born 1704, JAMESwho died at Calcutta bachelor, William, and Robert, who as well as adaughter, died in infancy.
This Baronet, who is still remembered with warm affection as 'Thegood Sir Thomas,' took an active part in repressing the rebellion of1715."
