    Notes:

    * In www.baronage.co.uk, Margaret is reported to have married SirAlexander de Seton. The dates are about right for this Alexander. BLG1850(Seton of Carish) also reports that this Alexander married Margaret, daughter of Walter Barclay, Chancellor of Scotland, but that is not fullysupportive because it is not clear that Sir Walter de Berkeley was thesame as the Walter who was Chancellor.
    * The descent from this Alexander to the Sir Alexander de Seton (whomarried Christian Cheyne) is obscure. The following provides a possibledescent but is not reliable. It follows BLG1850 (Seton of Carish)combined with data suggested by TSP. TSP suggests Seyer de Seton's fatherwas called Dugal.

    Main sources:
    (1) TSP (Winton), BP1934 (Eglinton).
    (2) BLG1850 (Seton of Carish). This not only contains specificinformation about the very early generations that is disputed orconsidered uncertain by TSP & BP1934 but also contains information aboutthe generations around the early Lords that contradicts those othersources, which are thought to be more reliable.
