  1. 2.  Isaac Hayne was born on 23 Sep 1745 in Colleton County, South Carolina (son of Isaac Hayne and Sarah Williamson); died on 4 Aug 1781 in Charleston, South Carolina.

    Isaac Hayne served as an officer in the Colleton Regiment of SC Militia.
    He was elected to the South Carolina Assembly in 1777, 1779, and 1780.
    When Charleston fell to the British, Isaac Hayne visited the city for
    medicine when his wife and several children had smallpox. He was coerced
    into signing a parole, in which he agreed not to bear arms against the
    British, in order to be permitted to return to his family. He was later
    captured under arms and hanged. "The Execution of Isaac Hayne", by David
    K. Bowen from Sandlapper Press, and "The Execution of Colonel Isaac
    Hayne" by Robert Y. Hayne in Southern Review I (1828) pp 75-82 address
    this incident. Isaac Hayne is buried near the site of his home, Hayne
    Hall, just off highway 63 between Jacksonborough and Walterboro. There is
    a sign on the highway and a monument at the grave.

    Isaac married Elizabeth Hutson on 18 Jul 1765 in Charles Town, South Carolina. Elizabeth (daughter of William Hutson and Mary Woodward) was born on 11 Jan 1746 in McPhersonville, South Carolina; died in Aug 1780 in Jacksonborough, South Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    Elizabeth Hutson was the great-grandaughter of Henry Woodward, the first
    white settler of South Carolina. Henry's son Richard married Sarah
    Stanyarne. Their daughter Mary married William Hutson. Mary and William
    Hutson were the parents of Elizabeth Hutson.

    third wife. Isaac had a total of five children, but as best I can find,
    only his son Isaac produced any heirs.

    She married John Long after John Hayne's death.
