Both of his Great grandparents served in the Civil War. His great grandmother was Eveline Hunter, who was a descendent of George Washington. This was taken from a newspaper clipping of 1976.

A newspaper clipping (1976) was sent to me from a Bert Hunter reads as follows:

The former area man spent 17 years in Pennsylvania. He attended Ben Franklin High School until 8th grade in New Castle. He quit school, worked at a dairy farm in New Castle and moved to Newton Falls, OH. While working for Hinkin Construction Co., Ravena, Ohio arsenal he contacted powder poisoning. The doctors gave him a month to live. Since he always wanted to live in Phoenix, Arizona, he went there in 1942 to spend the rest of his life. But in 1943 he returned to Newton Falls, Ohio and married Margaret Santo. Weir conducted a sight- seeing business from 1948-1954. During this time he contacted Burgeries disease, causing him to almost lose his legs4 different times. After treatment in Mayo Clinic, he was healed. He served as co-chairman over five precinets in Maricopa County and was Democratic inspector on the election board for serveral years. On June 15, 1954, Weir and his wife were divorced. They had 2 children a boy and a girl. He then moved to Long Beach California. When Disneyland opened, he worked as the only Jungle River Pirate on the jungle boat ride and also as the deadman that comes back to life in the movie props of "2000 Leagues Under the Sea".

On Sept. 1956, he and his present wife, Barbara were riding on a motorcycle when it collided with a car. The couple were dragged 25 feet. They were admitted to Orange County Hospital, Santa Anta California. His wife suffered a small concussion bruises of the hip and shoulder and broke her lower right front tooth off. Weir suffered cuts of the face, compound fractures of his right leg and his hands were almost torn off.
Doctors spoke about amputating both of his hands but he wouldn't consent. He now has steel plates in them.

After several operations, the doctors said that he would have 50% disability of the rest of his life. He now can walk, talk and has good use of his hands, fingers and legs.

He is now managing the Unfinished Symphony Ranch near Cornell, California.

Other information:
In 1958, he began to wear robes like Jesus and carried a waist money bag. They are woven sack cloth.
He grew his hair long to below his shoulders. The article stated that his father, Herbert Andrew Weir resided in Akron, OH. and his mother, Mrs. Mary Helen Weir Beck lives in Long Beach, California. His 2 children are making their homes in Arizona. He has a brother, Robert J. Weir of LuPuente, California and 2 half-sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Mc Guire of Garden Grove California, and Mrs. Judy Sibley of Longbeach and Lancaster, California. On his mothers' side his great grandfather Chris Felmeth, a gardener, had one of the first greenhouses in Moravia.
