    He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England and at Christ Church, Oxford University

    He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa, where he was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1943, and Italy. He was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Lothians and Border Horse. He was decorated with the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).

    He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.

    Claud married Margaret Frances Philips on 23 Aug 1941. Margaret (daughter of Brig.-Gen. Lewis Francis Philips, DSO,CMG and Margaret Aline Moreton Macdonald) was born on 17 Sep 1917; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
