    He was involved in the Northwest Rebellion.

    1899-1900 He was a Lieutenant with the 65th and went to the South African
    War with the Royal Canadian Regiment.
    He was awarded the Queens South Africa Medal with bars forCape
    Colony, Paardeberg, Driefontein and Johannesburg.

    He retired a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army in 1927 after 42 yearsas a
    soldier.
