"HARRY ERLER FUNERAL SET WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Harry W. Erler, retired assistant superintendentof the steel-producing division of United States Steel Corp., will beat 1 p.m. Wednesday at Burns Memorial Chapel.
The Rev. Douglas S. Morton of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate.Burial will follow in Calumet Park
Cemetery.
Erler, 62, died Saturday at Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was a member ofRoosevelt Lodge, F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; three brothers, Russell, CrownPoint and Victor and John, both of Gary, and three sisters, Mrs.Louise Hicks, Gary; Mrs. Roberta Hofferber, Crown Point, and Mrs.Elaine Booher, Chicago.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdayand from 9 a.m. to time of services Wednesday. Erler retired fromU.S. Steel in 1963. He started with the corporation in 1922. Heserved as superintendent of the No. 4 shop and of the No. 1 shopbefore being promoted to assistant division superintendent in 1953.
The Erler residence was in Crown Point before the move to FortLauderdale after retirement."

"HARRY W. ERLER DIES IN FLORIDA
Services Wednesday afternoon in Gary marked the death of a formerCrown Point resident, Harry W. Erler, 62, whose passing came Saturdayin Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Erlers had moved there from a Garyapartment after leaving their North Main street home, after hisretirement in 1963 from duties as assistant superintendent of thesteel-producing division of United States Steel corporation.
Survivors, with his wife Ellen, include three brothers, Russell ofCrown Point, Victor and John, both of Gary; and three sisters,Roberta, wife of Paul Hofferber of Crown Point, Mrs Louise Hicks ofGary and Mrs. Elaine Booher of Chicago.
Erler began work with U.S. Steel in 1922 and served as superintendentof the No. 4 and No. 1 shops before being promoted to assistantdivision superintendent in 1953. He was a member of the GraceLutheran church, Gary, and of Roosevelt Lodge, F and A.M.
