"NATIVE OF CITY DIES IN WRECK
Harry Reed, United States Marines, Killed in San Diego; Born in RockIsland.
Harry Reed of the United States Marine corps, a native of Rock Island,and formerly a resident of Aledo, Ill., was killed in a train wreck atSan Diego, Calif., according to work received in Rock Island today.No details of the accident were given.
Mr. Reed was the son of Mrs. Riley Miller of Millersburg, Ill. Heattended school in Millersburg and Aledo, leaving two years ago forPortland, Ore. He enlisted in the marines in Portland. A year ago,he visited friends in Aledo.
Surviving are the mother and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Anderson ofPortland, Ore."

BODY OF MARINE FOUND BY TRACKS
Police and the coroner's office last night were investigating themystery death of H. Reed, 20, Marine, whose badly crushed body wasfound yesterday 12 feet from the Santa Fe railroad tracks betweenTwiggs and Mason sts. in Old Town. Police were undecided whether Reedhad been struck by a train or slugged and beaten by robbers.
S.J.Hall and G.W.Litch, both of Los Angeles and employees of Santa Fe,found the body and called police. Reed was said to have had afractured skull, crushed chest and broken arm. About 200 feet from thebody officers found Reed's service cap and belt.
