Douglas, Esq., and has, with other issue, * Alan Douglas,
educated at Eton and at New Coll., Oxford (B.A. 1901,
M.A. 1906); b. 1879 ; m. 1909 Edith Winifred, dau. of
Alfred Morrison Turner, Esq., of Broughton, West
Derby, Lancashire, and has, with other issue, a son,
-?Thomas Douglas, b. 1912. Mr. Pilkington is a J.P.
for Lancashire and for St. Helen's, and a J.P. and

- (Research):Sandside House on the edge of the village is a mansion house with extensive grounds dating from 1751. It was owned by Thomas Pilkington, who founded Reay Village Golf Club.
