He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Park Hills, Missouri; Elvins Ionic Lodge 154 A.F.&A.M. of Desloge; and a Lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He volunteered for 18 plus years at the Park Hills Senior Center, which he truly loved. He enjoyed being involved in his community serving in the past on the Board of Commissioners for the County Road District and the Board for the Senior Apartments of Elvins. He served for three years in World War II in the Navy on board the USS Colorado. He retired after 39 years from the Valley Mineral (Dolomite) Company. He served as President and Financial Secretary for Local 618 United Steel Workers.
He was pre-deceased by a step-daughter, Diane O'Brien
Survived by Wife, Jeanne (Holloway-Johnson) Douglas of Park Hills; Son, Gregory and wife Anita Douglas of LaSalle, IL; Daughters, Jean Ann Williams of Desloge and Susan and husband Rich Gapen of The Villages, FL. Two Step-Sons, Denny and wife Carla Johnson and Dave and wife Alberta Johnson of Park Hills and one Step-Daughter, Denise and husband Jack Marler of Farmington. One brother, Ola and wife Helen Douglas of Bonne Terre; Seven Grandchildren, Todd (Stacy) Williams of Chesterfield, Sara Woods of Bonne Terre; Terri Douglas of Farmington, Brad (Trescha) Terry of Jefferson City, Anne Williams of St. Louis, Michael Douglas of Farmington and Brett DeClue of Potosi; Five Great-Grandchildren; Step-Grandchildren and numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
