Notes |
- Augusta was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. As an avid gardener she could be found outside tending her flowers and sharing her knowledge and plants with family and friends. A volunteer and active community member, Augusta belonged to many groups for well over 60 years. She was a Life Member of H.M.S. Shannon Chapter, IODE; Charter Member of Queen Ester Chapter #61, Order of the Eastern Star; Member of the Daughters of the Nile #149; and an enthusiastic Fezeroo Volunteer for Shriners Hospitals for Children. She was also a Past Member of the Dartmouth Horticultural Society, Dartmouth Historical Association, Canadian Power Squadron, Desert Sands Club, and until recently a regular walker in #1 Ticker Troop at MicMac Mall. Augusta and Peter enjoyed an active lifestyle that kept them young at heart and improved their community.
Augusta is survived by her husband of 67 years, Peter and her two daughters Rebecca (fianc?e Olaf Paulus) and Susan (Jim) Smith both of Dartmouth; and grandchildren Crystal and Stephen Smith.
Brothers Robert, Gordon, and Ralph predeceased her. She leaves behind brothers Curtis and Raymond; sisters Dorothy, Gloria, Marie, Thelma and Flora and a large extended family.
