"I should mention that the information I just sent on William Reynoldsmarrying Nancy Yancy certainly could be William Jr. He probablyreturned to IN after 1840 Whitley census where he married Nancy in1844 In Jackson Co. and I think he might have come back to KY afterhis wife dying leaving his son Richard (2-1850) with Nancy's parents. There was a William Reynolds listed in the 1850 Whitley Co. censusliving with a Hood family. He later could have married Candis Anders. William & Candis' 2nd son John C. Reynolds was born in 1863 in INaccording to the 1870 Whitley Co. census. Perhaps William & familywent to IN for a visit with Mary or Richard. I know there is nothingto verify this but I found it interesting that he had one child bornin IN."

Note: On the 12 August 1850 Federal Census for Carr Township, JacksonCounty, Indiana--a Richard Yauncey (dwelling 121/123) was living nextdoor to Leonard C. Alsup (dwelling 122/124) . In Richard Yauncey'shouse hold was probably a grandson of about two years old, RichardReynolds, b. IN. William K. R. Jr. Reynolds was married to NancyYauncey. William K.R. Jr. Reynolds sister Elizabeth (dau. of WmRunnels Reynolds) was married to Leonard C. Alsup's brother, DanielAlsup. [Leonard was the brother of Daniel Alsup. Daniel was marriedto Elizabeth Reynold's--the sister of William K.R. Jr. Reynolds.] Itis believed that Richard Yauncey's daughter married a Reynolds, probably Nancy. It is suspected that Richard Reynolds, child ofWilliam K. R. Jr. Reynolds & Nancy Yauncey, is the grandson stayingwith Richard Yauncey in the 1850 census. I know it's confusing, butthe families lived next to each other all during this time and thegrandson, Richard Reynold's stayed with Richard Yauncey which wouldconnect them all together. Making William K.R. Jr. Reynolds the sonof William M. Runnels Reynolds, and brother to our Mary Polly A.Reynolds Elkins.
Actually in the 1860 census for Carr, Jackson County, Indiana, Williamand Nancy show up. So, it's quite possible that the family was inKentucky during the 1850 census, and that the youngest Richard wasleft in the care of his grandparents while they were gone. Perhapsthey were visiting family at the time of the 1850 census or ...?It's doubtful that this William was then married to Candis Anderssince William and Nancy are still living together in Jackson County,Indiana in the 1880 Census .
