- Major Ian Ashley Moreton Brodie, 24th of Brodie was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England . He held the position of 24th Chief of Clan Brodie on 20 September 1889. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1899 in the service of the Scots Guards. He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was wounded. He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1902. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Nairnshire in 1903. He gained the rank of Captain. He fought in the First World War. He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Lovat's Scouts Imperial Yeomanry. He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) in 1916. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.). He was a daffodil-breeder, producing 300 different strains.
