- "Duncan Ban, alias 'Cairbh' ("the Corpse"), who in 1788, shared Glenpeanwith his son Donald. In 1794, Donald and his father emigrated toGlengarry Canada, the former was one of the first settlers of Lochieltownship, where he resided until his death on 4th February, 1854, aged 88years. Donald left 200 acres to each of his sons, Donald and Angus, alsoample provisions for his widow and 5(pounds) each to his six daughters.Both sons were married and left offspring. Long Donald's son was DannieDonald MacMillan, father of Mrs George Leyland of Cornwall. Big Angus hadsixteen children and only until quite recently two of the younger membersof the family remained. One of them, Duncan Alexander MacMillan, who diedrecently (1966), lived on the old homestead with his son Keith. Clarenceanother son, lives on an adjacent farm. Harold, his eldest son, asrepresentative of the Glenpeanbeg family, plays an active part in ClanMacMillan Society of North America."
