- William Crichton, 3rd Lord (d before 23.10.1493)
William forfeited his title because he joined the Duke of Albany inrebellion against King James III. It was rumoured that he helped formentthat rebellion because the King had seduced his wife Marion. It was alsorumoured that he seduced Margaret Stewart, the King's younger sister, tospite the King.
m1. (before 1478) Marion Livingston (d c1484, dau of James Livingston,1st Lord)
m2/p. Margaret Stewart (dau of James Stewart, King James II of Scots)
It is not certain that William's marriage to Margaret Stewart wasformalised. Sources conflict as to whether his son James was by his firstwife (reported by TSP) or by Margaret (reported by BE1883).
