Notes |
- "The Munro Tree (1734)" "A Genealogy and Chronology of the Munro's ofFoulis and other Families of the Clan." A manuscript compiled in 1734edited with Introduction and Notes by R.W Munro. Printed for subscribers, Edinburgh 1978.
R W Munro's rendering of the 1734 manuscript says:
"Collonel ROBERT MUNRO the Black Baron of Fowlis married my LordDuffhouse his daughter Margaret by whom he had a daughter next one Hainesan English woman he was Collonel of Horse and foot in Germany."
In the notes it also says Marion or Marjorie (of Dunachton) Mackintoshhis acknowledged but allegedly bigamous spouse dr of Lachlan morMackintosh of Dunachton and widow of Donald Gorm Mor Macdonald of Sleatwho died 1616.
It also says he "was declared a rebel 20 June 1626 for not submitting tojustice on the charge of bigamy"
Burke's names a daughter Florence but Munro does not.
It says in the notes that Margaret (of Duffus) Sutherland died inchildbed Abt. January 1615/16, but does not actually say she was motherof Margaret.
The manuscript say Elizabeth Munro, Robert's youngest daughter, livedwith her mother in England, so that could not be Margaret.
I would guess Florence is a another daughter of Mary Haynes, only becauseit say "Margaret by whom he had a daughter"
