"JOHN FRANKLIN AND MARTHA REBECCA (REATH) BURK" In the spring of1854, John Franklin Burk and Martha Rebecca Reath, daughter of Williamand Catherine (McKee) Reath, eloped. It is said that she tied severalbedsheets together to steal away into the night with John. They madetheir way to Chester Co., PA where they were married on May 3, 1854."
